خلاصه مقاله:
Coastal zones in Iran have a lot of potential to develop the urbanism and can be assumed as one of the main points for population locating as well as tourism attraction. But due to threats caused by seawater waves, the development of urban area in these zones is restrictively ongoing. Applying shore protection structures can be considered as a solution to decrease the effects of crisis due to water waves. But they have some environmental effects that may make them the first priority. In this research, using shore protection methods is investigated in a numerical modeling to illustrate which of the protection methods can lead to more efficient and economic results for sustainable development. Effects of duration along the lifetime of the structures due to corrosion and seawater wave impacts are also discussed. It is concluded that using the appropriate method for coastal protection in urban area near to the sea is strongly related to the water wave height and average seawater streams conditions. Based on the results, nonstructural methods for protection of the urban area against the water threats can be highly efficient and sufficient. The main criterions that govern the sustainability of coastal protection method are widely discussed.
