Abstract:

In the past, the hard rocks were not considered as a possible source of groundwater. This was mainly due to their low permeability and high cost drilling. However hydrogeological investigations have indicated that if these rocks possess continuous fractures, can be considered as groundwater source. Pumping test is carried out for determination of hydrodynamic parameters due to water-bearing layers such as transmissivity (T), hydraulic conductivity (K) and storage coefficient (S). Determinations of these parameters are most important hydrogeological studies in each watershed. In this paper different methods in hydraulic parameters determination of hard aquifers are introduced and for instance Newman technique applied on pumping test data from Gol-Gohar area.
