Error Detection in Data Transmission in Digital Systems by Hamming Code

In recent years, the transfer of data in the computer networks has been particular important. To alleviate thisproblem, scientists have used wide range of code for detecting data transmission errors such as; error detecting codewith parity bit, Biquinary code and etc. Hamming code is one of the most important and widely used codes among thesecodes that not only detect the errors but also can correct them. In this research, at first, several error detection codeshave been identified and described. Then advantages and disadvantages of each code have been investigated. Finally,the Hamming code and its application in error detection have been explained and its advantage over another code hasbeen explained.
