Abstract:
Today, electric vehicles because of environmental issues and issues related to the high price of fuel are graduallyentering into the people s lives. These vehicles are charged at home or at special charging stations. Due to the high powerconsumption of charging stations, the demand for the distribution system is significantly increased and, as a result, itincreases the loss of the distribution system. To solve this problem, solutions such as the use of energy storage systems(ESS) have been proposed. In this paper, the optimal location and size of charging stations for electric vehicles andenergy storage systems with the aim of minimizing network power losses, the cost of investment by genetic algorithm onthe IEEE 33-bus standard network has been investigated. Results show the improvement of power quality with thesimultaneous location of charging stations and storage devices.
