Abstract:

In the present paper, we have investigated the technical and economic feasibility of implementing a gridconnectedphotovoltaic (GCPV) system in an auto parts manufacturing company located in Iran. According to theinformation taken from electric bills, the researchers came to realize that the annual energy consumption of thecompany is 99.428 kWh. In order to present a GCPV system, a simulation tool called PVsyst has been used. Theparameters for technical evaluation of a system including: output power, normalized array production, referenceincident energy, normalized system production, performance ratio, and system loss has been calculated. Foravailable area of the rooftop, we consider a 45-kW system that output power of its equals 70491 kWh annually,while this system generates 70.9% of the required power and the PR is 79.8%. In addition, in the economicanalysis, the parameters of initial cost, net present value, internal rate of return, payback, discounted paybackperiod, and levelized cost of energy have been calculated. Results show that the internal rate of return equals 17%and the payback time is 5.33 years.
