Abstract:

Due to the daily decline in fossil fuels and the limited of these resources, the need for alternative sources is highly felt. so alternative energy development is considered as an option for sustainable economic growth in human societies. Meanwhile, the focus has been on biological fuels, especially biodiesels. Biodiesel is one of these fuels that is produced by the reaction of Esterification an oil and alcohol in the presence of a chemical catalyst or lipase. At the moment, biodiesel production has high costs although There are also considerations and problems. One of the actions that can be taken to reduce production costs is the use of biocatalysts. The lipase enzymes, as a catalyst for biodiesel production, have unique properties, including the lack of sensitivity to free fatty acids and the possibility of reaction at low temperatures But the high price of enzymes is one of the limitations of industrialization of this process. Of course, To reduce these Enzymatic Costs, enzyme fixation techniques have been introduced to help recovery and reuse of enzymes should be made easier. This paper initially examined the types of enzymes, fixation, and function of enzymes by introducing biodiesel production by lipase.
