Abstract:

CuFeO2/CeO2 composite was synthesized and its catalytic activity was studied in Reactive Red 195 (RR195) removal via electro-Fenton process. The catalyst was characterized by FT-IR and FE-SEM techniques. Based on the obtained results, CuFeO2 has retained its delafossite structure after the anchoring on the cerium oxide. The FE-SEM image reveals that the CuFeO2 homogeneously dispersed on the support. The removal efficiency of RR195 reached 92% after 70 min of electrolysis at an initial pH of 3, the current intensity of 100 mA, 2 mg weight of added delafossite-ceria composite, 100 mg L-1 initial dye concentration, and room temperature. The kinetic decay of the dye obeyed a pseudofirst- order reaction and the rate constant was obtained 0.0336 min-1. The leaching of the catalyst was investigated
