Abstract:

Introduction: MicroRNAs are large subgroup of non-coding RNAs with length of 18 to 25nucleotides that regulate the expression of genes after transcription. Acute lymphoblastic leukemiais type of neoplastic disorder that can be progenitor of lymphocytes or T. The expression ofmicro-RNAs in malignancies changes in different stages of the course of the disease. Since themicroRNAs are stable in the serum, the aim of this study is to evaluate the expression of miR-506in newly diagnosed ALL patients and after treatment.Materials Methods: method and material:In this study, 21 patients with ALL were newlydiagnosed and treated with 21 healthy subjects. After directly synthesizing cDNA from serum, expression of miR-506-3p and miR-506-5p was measured using qRT-PCR method. Data wereanalyzed using SPSS 19 and Wilcoxon and Mann-Withny methods. Results: The level of change in post-treatment change was significantly higher than miR-506-3p (p= 0.004) and miR-506-5p (p 0.022) before treatment, in other words miR-506 3p and miR-506-5pafter treatment significantly decreased in patients. The expression of miR-506-5p was significantlyhigher in patients with normal leukocyte (below 15,000) (p 0.023).Conclusion: The results of this study showed that miR-506 acts as an Oncogene and has beenshown to reduce expression after treatment, and it seems that it can be used as biologicalbiomarker in the course of the disease.
