Abstract:

In the present research, effects of adding graphene oxide (GO) on the disbonding and mechanicalproperties of fusion bonded epoxy coatings have been investigated. The graphene oxide-based epoxynanocomposite coatings 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and wt %) were prepared by the ultrasonication method inacetone and samples were electrostatic coated. The effect of GO on mechanical properties of epoxynanocomposite was investigated using microhardness test. microstructure analysis using Field EmissionScanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM) showed no agglomeration but well dispersed GO particles inthe epoxy matrix and also, disturb and deflect the crack propagation. The results of this research are astrong evidence for GO/ epoxy nanocomposites being potential candidate for using in variety ofindustrial applications, especially for oil and gas pipeline transmission.
