The Relationship of Domestic Violence with the Quality of Marital Relationships and Marital Intimacy of Couples

Introduction: In addition to legal and ethical aspects, the domestic violence against women has many physical, psychological and social consequences that can endanger health of women, family and society. Present study aimed to investigate the relationship of domestic violence with intimacy of couples and quality of marital relationships in Tabriz city of Iran.Methods: present paper is descriptive correlational study and statistical society includes women who are referred to consulting center in Tabriz city in 2017-2018. Thirteen subjects were selected via Cochran formula and questionnaires distributed through convenience sampling. Data was analyzed in SPSS (Version 22) software through descriptive and inferential statistical tests of Pearson Correlation.Findings: Results of study are as follow: the relationship between variables of domestic violence with martial intimacy and quality of martial relationship is -0.803 and -0.531, respectively. Therefore, these two variables have negative and reverse relationship with domestic violence.Conclusions: Regarding to results of this study, there is significant relationship among variables of marital intimacy of couples and quality of marital relationships with domestic violence
