Abstract:

The present research aimed to study the feasibility of using renewable solar and wind energies in buildings of low energy consumption in Hamedan. In order to estimate the primary wind and solar energy at this station, the necessary computations were performed on the statistical data measured by Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization and NASA website. HOMER software was used for economic analysis. In order to examine the effect of each parameter on the finished cost of produced energy, the sensitivity analysis was conducted on the data related to sun radiation intensity, wind speed, fuel price, and maximum annual capacity shortage. In addition, 180 different scenarios were investigated in this regard. The results showed that the diesel generator/battery/solar cell hybrid systems are cost-effective for a fuel price of more than $ 2 per liter, at any irradiation intensity and wind speed. The results also indicated that the use of wind turbines is not cost-effective due to the weak wind speed of the study area. Moreover, since all the required energy is provided, the maximum annual capacity shortage has no impact on the results. The study findings demonstrated that the renewable energy hybrid system is recommended when the distance from the national electricity grid is more than 6.83 km
