A practical protocol for Synthesis of 2,4-Diaryl-9H-pyrido[2,3-b]indoles in the presence of nanoparticles of ZnO as a catalyst

A new and efficient one-pot reaction for synthesis of 2,4-diaryl-9H-pyrido[2,3-b]indoles in the presence of ZnO nanoparticles as a catalyst is designed. For synthesizing of compounds of interest with desired yields, a combination of a chalcone, an oxindole and ammonium acetate in the presence of ZnO, as a catalyst, was heated without using solvent.
