Amino Coupling Agent in Hydrophilic Nanocomposite hybrid Coatings

Hydrophilic nanocomposite coatings were synthesized with incorporation of Aminoethylaminopropyltrimethoxysilane as a coupling agent by a sol-gel process. The results indicate the hydrophilic and homogeneity of the coatings are depended remarkably on the amounts of Aminoethylaminopropyltrimethoxysilane. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Si mapping micrographs indicated that there is a uniform distribution of silica particles in the coatings. Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) was employed to study the thermal mechanical behavior of the nanocomposite hybrid coating. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) is used to investigated surface topography of the coatings.
