Abstract:

Transition to the reproductive phase is one of the important changes in the plant s life. Various genetic factors and pathways are involved in this phenomenon and identification of these factors and their interaction could help to understand the mechanism of flower and seed formation. In addition, it also helps the planning of production of early-flowering plants and seeds for food and pharmaceutical uses. In this research, the expression of two stimulating genes LFY and AP1 in black mustard (Brassica nigra L.) was studied. After planting and growing plants in greenhouse conditions, the total RNA was extracted from the leaf and flower buds at the generative phase. After cDNA synthesis, gene expression was investigated using designed primers and the Real-Time PCR technique. The expression of these two genes in each organ did not show any significant difference that indicates a direct relationship between these two genes. However, the expression of these genes is higher in flower buds than leaves that show reproductive tips are the main expression places of LFY and AP1. Expression changes of these genes can regulate flowering or change its time.
