Abstract:
Recently, much attention has been paid to the development of new procedures for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds such as quinoline. Quinoline derivatives areof interest in medicinal chemistry and chemical biology due to their wide range of biological activities such as antibacterial, antimalarial, antitumor, antiasthmatic, anthelmintic and antiplatelet [1-2]. Herein, we report the synthesis of pyrimido[4,5-b]quinoline derivatives via a threecomponent, one-pot condensation of aldehyde derivatives, 1,3-diketone, and 6- amino-1,3-dimethyl uracil in the presence of [PVP- SO3H]HSO4 as catalyst. The procedure gave the products in excellent yields in short reaction times and good to high yields. Also this catalyst can be reused several times without loss of its catalytic activity.
