Abstract:
Macrocyclic chemistry has developed into one of the most active and promising research areas of chemical science located at the interface between chemistry, physics and biology. Schiff-base complexes are considered to be among the most important stereo chemical models in main group and transition metal coordination chemistry due to their preparative accessibility and structural variety. In this work, we report the synthesis and characterization of new Mn(II), Cd(II) and Zn(II) macrocyclic Schiff base complexes have been prepared via the Mn(II), Cd(II) and Zn(II) of 2-Hydroxy-5-methyl-benzene-1,3-dicarbaldehyde with an asymmetrical linear amine, N,N (2-aminoethyl) (4aminobutyl) piperazine. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR and HNMR.
