Prevalence of epilepsy in infertile women

Background and Aim: Epilepsy is the fourth most common neurological disorder that occurs after isturbances in the transmission of neural signals between brain cells and may occur at any age. The purpose of this research is to investigate the prevalence of epilepsy in infertile women. Materials and Methods: A descriptive study was performed on 400 patients in two groups of 200 patients. The first group was women referring to one of the competent infertility centers of Shiraz from 2007 to 2010 and the second group, the control group; Women referring to one of the obstetrics centers of this city were evaluated for epilepsy and were evaluated in the form of questionnaires based on the principles of questionnaire and validity and reliability criteria. Results: The results of the questionnaires completed by interviewing the patients in both groups were analyzed by statistical software, which did not increase the incidence of epilepsy in the infertile group compared to the first group.
