Abstract:

Urban population growth combined with housing and occupational needs in cities and particularly in metropolises led to an increase in density and property values. As a consequence cities undergo widespread and high-rise expansion. Whatever the number of buildings floors increase, the duration of the building construction will increase, therefore, engenders ever more losses. On the other hand, extensive urban construction have drastic impacts upon the environmental health and daily life of citizens. This research deals with the noises of urban constructional activities in residential areas, in phases of demolition, excavation and unloading construction materials, particularly iron. Eventually, strategies are presented in order to improve the mentioned processes. According to the conducted survey, which aimed to study the well-being of the human society affected by noises of construction, the vast majority of households living in the vicinity of a construction site, suffer its noise pollution. It is also worth to mention that article 50 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, firmly regards the protection of the environment in which an ever flourishing social life is expected for the current generation and the ones to come, as a public duty. Hence all activities, economic or otherwise, that impose irreversible damages to the environment are strongly prohibited. As a result, reappraisal of the existing laws and creating new ones are absolutely essential.
