Abstract:

In this study, thermo-physical properties of CaCO3/water nanofluids have been studied experimentally. Temperature and concentration dependences on these thermo-physical properties were investigated by analyzing the nanofluids at 0.0855%-0.34% volume concentrations in temperature range of 25-55˚C. The experimental data for CaCO3/water nanofluids have shown enhancement in dynamic viscosity and thermal conductivity with rising in nanoparticle volume concentration, while, density of the nanofluid increases slightly. Thermal conductivity of CaCO3/water nanofluids increases with the increment of temperature but both the dynamic viscosity and density of nanofluids decrease with temperature. Specific heat capacity and themal resistivity of nanofluid samples decrease with rising in volume concentration. Common models have been evaluated for all thermo-physical properties and suitable experimental correlations were proposed.
