Microstrip technology in bandpass filters

Today, filters play an important role in many microwave applications. Applications of filters aremodulation, demodulation, radio communication and filtering, frequency selection is required. Filters aregenerally divided into four branches. Each of these sections has own unique application. These fourcategories are called low pass filters, high pass filters, bandpass filters and bandstop filters. An importantfeatures of the bandpass filter are compact size, low insertion loss, low input loss, suitable cutofffrequency, wide stop band and sharp response in the transition band. The most important application ofmicrostrip bandpass filters is in the wireless local area network (WLAN).
