Abstract:

Today microalgae are known as a great source of bio-products like proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, etc. The extraction of these bio-products from microalgae is a great challenge which many studies have considered different methods to achieve the maximum yield. This study aimed at evaluating the concentration of proteins in multifarious strains of microalgae Spirulina platensis, Chlorella vulgaris, Dunaliella salina with the help of various cell disruption methods. All samples were harvested at the same cell concentration. Chemical treatment, alkaline treatment and ultra-sonication are the methods which were accomplished and compared in order to extract of protein. After extraction, the protein concentration was analyzed by the Lowry method. According to results, the influence of various methods followed below order: Alkaline ˃ Ultra-sonication ˃ Chemical ˃ Centrifugation. Also, the protein concentration in Spirulina platensis was the highest in comparison with other strains.
