Photocatalytic degradation of wastewater is an environmentally friendly water treatment technology. In this study, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model for the simulation of radiation distribution inside a photoreactor was developed and evaluated. The evaluation showed that the proposed CFD model successfully predicted the local incident radiation within the reactor. Simulations were then carried on different catalyst loading, lamp power and wall reflectivity. The performed analysis showed that wall reflectivity is more significant in low catalyst concentration, increasing the reaction rate up to 50%. The effect of wall reflectivity (98%) when duplicating the lamp power increased the reaction rate only 1.5%.
