The hydrogen generation from NaBH4 hydrolysis by using bimetallic cobalt-nickel catalyst supported on the magnetic wood-based activated carbon was studied in the present work. The magnetic activated carbon and bimetallic catalyst were synthesized by co-precipitation and heterogeneous deposition-precipitation methods, respectively. The characterization of the prepared catalyst was evaluated by employing the various tests including XRD, FTIR, and FESEM. The XRD and FESEM results indicated that the well dispersed bimetallic catalyst was prepared with the nanoparticle size below 10 nm. The hydrogen generation rate and activation energy were measured to be 740 ml. min-1. g-1 and 40.7 kJ mol-1 at 30°C, respectively.
