خلاصه مقاله:
Assessment of the potential hazards in an industrial plant is a crucial step to either prevent or mitigate catastrophic consequences due to the residual risk. Fire and gas detection system that includes flame and gas detectors, as layer of protection, play an essential role to achieve the risk reduction goals. Conducting a comprehensive and reliable method in order to ensure the detection system is properly in service should be in the top priorities. The operational effectiveness of detection systems is evaluated by the portion of desired coverage area. Although there are several standards and technical reports regarding fire and gas detector’s design, obtaining the optimum lay-out in this issue still remains as a controversial subject among experts. In this study, Detect3D software is introduced as an intelligent software to promote fire and gas mapping as well as optimize location properties of flame and gas detectors. By using this software, current detection coverage for a plant can be completely assessed and as a result best lay-out for the detection systems will be obtained.
