Abstract:
Past accident analysis in chemical process industries is vital. Regarding to good safety management measures, events in the process industry are reduced or prevented from occurring in their entirety. Risk assessment must evolve for addressing the existing and future challenges, and considering the new systems and innovations that have already arrived in our lives and that are coming ahead. The structured performance of a risk assessment guides analysts to identify possible hazards/threats, analyze their causes and consequences, and describe risk, typically quantitatively and with a proper representation of uncertainties. For better risk assessment results, some consequence modeling software wasintroduced such as PHAST. This software calculate material evaporation, compute concentration levels, assesse the radiation level, and overpressure wave of the explosion and the number of deaths. In this paper, consequence modeling of lean gas pressure vessel of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company (B.I.P.C) was considered as the case study. The effect of different weather conditions were evaluated and finally the worst case of consequences was recognized
