Abstract:

The main aim of this study was to experimental investigate the thermal performance of the hydroid radiant baseboards that uses for space heating in buildings. The presently available equations for determination of heat outputs from these room heaters are veiled for a certain temperature range. In this paper a new modified model of the radiant baseboard heating system is introduced. This new model has an optimized geometry that causes heat transfer convection increased and also it will save energy. The calculation of the heat transfer for original model of the radiator is based on the experimental data that is obtained in Ref [12]. Experimental investigation in this work is according to EN 442-2. Results show that thermal performance in the modified radiator increased about 60% compared to the original model. The proposed equation can easily be used or programed in energy consumption for space heating in buildings served by radiant baseboards.
