The experiences of the previous earthquakes indicated that the structures built in the past could show some severe damages for a variety of reasons, including regulatory defects. Because the damages of some elements such as beams can retrofit, there is a need to extend the related studies. One of the popular methods in retrofitting is the use of fibre reinforced polymer or FRP. They are high strength materials that can be installed on existing structural elements in different schemes. This paper aims to determine the shear strength of reinforced concrete beams strengthened with FRP by a soft computing method namely adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). To this end, laboratory data is collected and based on the considered soft computing system; a model was trained, validated and tested.
