Abstract:
In this article, the transient response of a particular type of electromagnetic railgun structure’s cross-section have been studied. Firstly, cross-section of the structure has been analyzed as single degree of freedom under dynamic loading. Then through using Finite Element Method (FEM), the transient response of the system was compared to a particular type of loading. After examining the results, dynamic analysis of cross-section for different types of loading and different material stiffness was conducted. The investigation was conducted as 2D transient analysis by using FEM and with assumption of plane strain. Finally, the results were investigated.
