Abstract:
Background: Infertility is a stressful situation that has an undesirable impact on both partners, especially on mental condition of infertile women. Spiritual wellbeing may be a positive, meaningful strategy that helps them to cope with their stress, protect them against its complications.Methods: The present study has carried out about a population comprised of 134 infertile women referred to Mottahari hospital, Urmia, in January to December 2017. Assessment tools were a self-reporting questionnaire (Spiritual Well-Being Scale; SWBS) by Paloutzian & Ellison, Newton infertility-related stress questionnaire, and a demographic questionnaire. For statistical analysis, correlation coefficients test, multiple regression analysis, and logistic regression were used.Results: There was a meaningful relation of women’s spirituality wellbeing with their infertility-related stress (0.043). Moreover, effect of spirituality wellbeing and infertility-related-stress, and level of economic status was meaningful (P= 0.03, 0.04). No significant effects of age, marriage duration and educational level on women’s spirituality and their infertility-related-stress were detected (P= 0.17, 0.22, 0.75).Conclusion: Spirituality wellbeing in infertile women might use to overcome the adverse effects of the problems. Nursing interventions are recommendable to progress treatment to decrease infertility related stress in the clients.
