Abstract:

Background: The rate of drug use and Sexually Transmitted Infections are high in sex worker Women. The purpose of this study was to the expression of the Profile of sex worker Women in in Gorgan, 2016.Materials and methods: In a cross-sectional study, 150 sex worker Women referred to Drop In Centers in Gorgan city were evaluated. Anti-HCV, HbsAg and anti-HIV anti-HIV were tested by ELISA method and the risk factors questionnaire was completed. Results: 64% of women were under 35 years of age. 140 cases were Iranian and 10 cases were Afghan.The mean (± SD) of the age at the time of study, the first marriage, the first sexual relationship outside the family framework,the first receipt of money or goods due to sexual relations in the subjects were 32.76 ± 9.08, 6.6 ± 15.79, 20.79 ± 3.5 and 21 ± 3/56 years respectively. 66% were illiterate or elementary, and only 7.2% had university education. 9.3% of women had a history of abortion three times, 13.3% twice and 11.3% had a history of abortion. A total of 34.7% of women had a history of abortion at least once. The prevalence of tattoo, history of imprisonment, smoking, alcohol consumption, cupping, genital ulceration over the past 12 months, and history of Injection addictionwere 44%, 93.3%, 99.3%, 97.3%, 4.7% , 16% and 36.7% respectively. Of the women, 89.3% were married. The average number of sex partners last week was 62.2 ± 0.85 and the average number of sex partners who paid money or goods for sex on the last working day was 2.52 ± 0.77. The history of using syringes, vials and dish was 6%, 2%, and 7.2%, respectively.The prevalence of hepatitis B infection was 7.7% (7 cases) and 2.7% (4 cases) of hepatitis C infection. None of the people studied had HIV infection. One case of hepatitis B infection also had hepatitis C infection. Conclusion: Injection drug addiction is high in these people so Regarding the risk factors for hepatitis C infection in this study, prioritizing and focusing on Drop In Centers programs includes treating addicts with agonist drugs, changing patterns to oral use, using a disposable syringe, and using condoms in sexual relationships To be Considered
