Abstract:

Introduction:Sexual dysfunction is a heterogeneous group of disorders, which affects the capacity for sexual response or sexual pleasure. These disorders have been related to biological, psychological, cultural, behavioural and interpersonal determinals. There are data suggesting that women who breast feed have a higher risk of sexual dysfunction. Some of the factors that may affect on sexual dysfunction include estrogen and androgen reduction, vaginal dryness, dyspareunia, lack of time and energy due to child care difficulties, fatigue, stress and worrying about another pregnancy Methods:Article based on about 12 articles from ScienceDirect and Pupmed sites, more researchers were performed a cohort study and Meta Analysis protocol guidelines. The research population consists of lactation women of health centers. Sample size was determined to be at 95% confidence interval and mean of 22/9 for the female sexual function in a pilot study.200 eligible women were randomly selected from 8 family health centers. The inclusion criteria were, literacy to complete the questionnaire, married and living with spouns, being in lactation period (3-6 months after child birth), absence of disease, not using drug that affect sexual behaviors, absence of stressors in the recent 6 months Results:Researchers reported that women who breast feed have a higher risk of sexual dysfunction. Dyspareunia, is a common complaint of breast feeding women. Hyperprolactinemia, hypoestrogenism and the demand for infant care increase female sexual dysfunction in this period Conclusion:There is a dependent associated between breast feeding and sexual dysfunction. According to the finding, in order to prevent the effects of sexual dysfunction on breast feeding women and their family members .it is necessary to develop sexual health programs in health centers
