Abstract:

The crisis of climate change is considered a serious environmental threat for the international community that without the cooperation of all of them cannot be controlled. The mass media and in particular, the mainstream media as one of the most important means of communications and information in the present age can certainly play a special role in this regard. Obviously, misuse of the principle of freedom of speech and the free flow of information to promote the theory of the climate change denial can seriously disturb the cooperation of the states in fighting against this environmental phenomenon. Hence, it is necessary to take advantage of the position of international law of communications and information in order to prevent the spread of information that would create barriers in the way of international efforts to tackle climate change. Resorting an analytical approach of methodology, the research seeks to necessitate the use of international law of communications and information in order to form a comprehensive legal regime for creating a Climate Media. Thus, the climate change policy of mass media would be unified against promoting false contents and fake news over the matter of this environmental crisis.
