Evaluating the quality of translation is one the most difficult area in the study of translation. Themain issue in this case is how to measure and express the quality of translation. Translation qualityassessment is a fast growing sub-field of Translation Studies. It focuses on the inter- relationshipsbetween the text translated from ST and the text translated into TT. The present study is going toassess the English translation of Hammam Sermon of Imam Ali’s (A.S) Nahjul-Balaghah. Theyardstick for measuring this English translation is House’s (1997) TQA model. This model isutilized, firstly by analyzing the ST and TT. The results demonstrate that this translation of Sermonwhich is a religious text can be considered as a covert kind of translation rather than an overt oneand the two English translator did not succeed to translate the Hammam Sermon of Imam Ali’sNahjul-Balaghah overtly. The results also showed that these particular translated Sermons did notcomply with the implication of House s Model in that a religious work which has to be translated overtly and any deviation of it will be considered as an error. Therefore, these translations can beconsidered as a covert kind of translation rather than an overt one.
