Background and Objectives: Burn is a major global health problem which is associated with patients’ anxiety and depression. The present study aimed to determine the anxiety and depression and some related factors in burn patients.Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was performed on 93 patients with second degree burn on the second day of admission to the burn medical training center in 2016. Patients were selected through the convenience sampling method and were investigated with the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics in SPSS 22.Results: The results showed that the rate of anxiety was normal in 31 patients (33%), low in 36 patients (39%), moderate in 24 patients (26%), and high in 2 patients (2%), and the rate of depression was normal in 6 patients (7%), low in 39 patients (42%), moderate in 33 patients (36%), and high in 15 patients (16%). There was a statistically significant relationship between the rate of anxiety and depression and marital status, gender, and employment status in these patients. Conclusion: The results showed that anxiety and depression occur highly in married, female, and unemployed patients. Therefore, it is recommended to evaluate the psychological status of the high-risk admitted patients and perform appropriate interventions.
