Abstract:
The paper presents a generic vector model for Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine (BDFM) which considers all loops in each rotor nest. In contrast to the existing vector or d-q models for the machine, the authors believe that there is no necessity to reduce each nest to one loop in the vector model and one can take into account all the loops in each rotor nest separately and get a vector model for the machine. The vector model that will be obtained in this way is apparently more accurate than the existing vector or d-q models of the machine which reduce each nest to one loop. Meanwhile, the authors believe that the obtained vector model is still manageable for the purpose of BDFM control, analysis and simulations studies. The derived vector model is based on the coupled circuit model of the machine and by considering some assumptions and applying appropriate vector transformations. The assumptions considered reduce the model order from 26 in the coupled circuit model to twelve in thevector model for a prototype BDFM
