Abstract:

In this paper, a set of interfaces are implemented for supplying residential 3- phase loads by a Fuel Cell (FC). The proposed system consists of a DC/DC converter and a high frequency transformer to boost FC voltage. Furthermore, an auxiliary switch is applied to control the power flow from FC to the output load. Also, an inductance is paralleled with the primary terminals of the transformer to contribute in the power transfer procedure. The other part is a three phase full bridge SPWM inverter with an LC filter. A battery pack is connected to the DC bus by a bidirectional switch to aid supplying required voltage for the inverter at load peaks. The main advantage of this topology is the capability of controlling power flow. Reducing the number of switches and diodes at the DC side, which results in reduction of conducting losses, and simple control strategy, are the other advantages. The simulation results are provided by PSCAD/EMTDC software to verify the advantages of the proposed topology
