Abstract:

LBackground: Recurrent miscarriage (RM) is explained as three or more consecutive pregnancy losses occurring before 20 weeks post menstruation.. Blood group incompat ibility can affect reproduction. However, there is not enough study about the ABO blood group in early RM patients (ERM). Our objective is to evaluate the ABO blood group in early recurrent miscarriage women in the Kosar Hospital. Patients and Methods: For this cross sectional study data were evaluated from 25 recurrent miscarriage patient and 25 healthy controls. Inclusion and exclusions criteria’s were applied. The data from these participants were obtained by a check list and evaluate the ABO blood group according to AABB protocol. Both descriptive and statistical analysis methods were applied. (P value < 0.05)Results: Age range of subjects was 30.37 ± 0.4 years and control group was 28± 5.0 years. O group was found in 10 subjects and 12 controls , A group was found in 6 subjects and 4 controls , B group was found in 5 subjects and 3 controls and AB group was found in 4 subjects and 6 controls. There were no sta tistically significant differences between the subjects and control groups with regard to age and ABO blood group. (P value > 0.05). Conclusions: ABO blood groups did not an pathologic risk factor for early recurrent miscarriage in our study population. Our study was limitations such as: retrospective study, and limited number of study population. Another studies shown ABO Bloods group incompatibility is a risk factor in re current abortion.
