Abstract:

Objective:This study was performed to determine the association of inflammatory indices ,neutrophils lymphocytes ratio( NLR) and platelet lymphocytes ratio(PLR) as prognostic factors with anatomical variables in breast cancer pathology in patients attending to Booali and Resalat Hospitals in 2016-2017.Methods and materials: In this observational study that was performed as a cross-sectional descriptive-comparative survey, 80 consecutive patients with breast cancer pathology in patients attending to Booali and Resalat Hospitals in 2016-2017 were enrolled and the association of inflammatory indices (PLR and NLR) as prognostic factors with anatomical variables among them was determined. Results: The results in this study revealed that mean NLR and PLR were 2.1 ± 1.2 and 128.4 ± 74.8. The NLR was only related to size of tumor & so TNM staging (P=0.026). The PLR was not related to other variables (P > 0.05).Conclusions: Totally, it may be concluded that NLR was related to size of tumor & so TNM staging in breast cancer & there is no association between PLR as prognostic factors with anatomical variables in breast cancer in this study.
