Abstract:

Inflammation has a critical role in the pathogenesis and progression of colorectal cancer. Recent studies have shown that inflammatory markers such as neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet lymphocyte ratio (PLR) correlate with poor prognosis in colorectal cancer.In this research we aimed to investigate association of these markers with anatomical pathologic variablesof colorectal tumors. The present study retrospectively analyzed the data of 64 patients with colorectal cancer. NLR and PLR were significantly associated with poor tumor differentiation status. In conclusion, these inflammatory indexes can be introduced as a prognostic factors and help to more detailed stratification of colorectal cancer patients.
