Abstract:

Liponeurocytoma is an uncommon glioneuronal mixed with mesenchymal brain tumor mainly found in the cerebellar region between the fourth and sixth decades of life. the supratentorial locations are even rarer and to the best of our knowledge’s less than 12 cases had been reported by review of literature .It predominantly presents as a single slow growing well- demarcated tumoral mass with minimal edema and scattered foci of hyper intensity duo to high lipid content. Based on 2007, the WHO grading system for classification of CNS tumors, this tumor is now adopted as grade II. Surgical resection is the choice of treatment and despite the higher rate of recurrence, the overall outcome of the patients are favorable. We describe an additional case in a 38 year-old woman presented with headache and a round tumoral mass in ventricular system on MRI findings. However, this case indicate that liponeurocytoma is not restricted only to the cerebellar region and must be kept in mind in differential diagnosis of interventricular brain neoplasms.
