Abstract:

Breast cancer is one of the most common malignant cancers in women. Among the various types of aforementioned cancer, triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is accompanied with poor clinical outcome and lack of the effective target therapy and the way to deal to this condition is a puzzling issue for clarions. Present survey was aimed to investigate the expression of ki67, as a proliferation index, in further classification of TNBC and examine the relation between expression of aforementioned index and clinical pathological determinants. Our study performed on 76 subjects with definitive diagnosis of TNBC (based on the pathological report) and for this we used the immunohistochemistry (IHC) technique. Also, we examined the relationship between the ki67 expression and clinical outcomes that done based on the Chi Square test. Based on our statistical analyzing, the high expression of ki67 index was founded in 72 percent of TNBC and this parameter was associated with histological grade and age of patient, significantly (p<0.05). We didn’t find any meaningful difference tumor stage and size, lymph node insolvents and histology of tumor (p> 0.05). In conclusion, we can say that ki67 plays a crucial role in TNBC and has to be considered as a predictor marker.
