Abstract:

In recent years, the production of various nanocomposites based on biopolymers has been considered. In addition to the direct use of biopolymers for production of bio based packaging, the bio-polymers can also be combined with synthetic polymers. Although biopackaging of pure biopolymers has more biodegradability than the hybrid films, but their mechanical quality and permeability are lower. Production of nanocomposites is a way to improve the functional properties of the biopolymer film [1].In this study, the effect of coating with polycaprolactone (PCL), nanocrystalline cellulose (NCC) and zinc oxide (ZnO) nanocomposites on the tensile index of the coated papers was investigated. For this purpose, the coating materials with specified conditions (PCL 10, NCC 4 and 6%, ZnO 3%) were coated on the surface of the papers. According to Figure 1, the results showed that the tensile index of the coated papers increased with increment of NCC percentage and the ternary composition of these materials with more NCC percentage had the best resistance properties compared to the control paper.
