خلاصه مقاله:
The purpose of this research is to study the plies adhesion of aluminum, glass-epoxy composites and natural rubber layers under low velocity impact. Needing some structures with outstanding strength against impact, hybrid laminates have attracted much attention and therefore in order to have good strength as well as high capacity of energy absorption, adhesion between different layers of this kind of structure is critical. The structure considered in this study consists of four layers of different materials including two layers of Aluminum 6061-T6 as facing layers, 6 layers of glass/epoxy composite and a 2 mm thickness natural rubber. To achieve an optimum adhesion, three types of adhesives including Bylamet S2, Chemosil 222 and Polyurethane were used in fabrication process. Low velocity impact tests were carried out using a 10 millimeter spherical nose shape indenter in a drop hammer apparatus. The failure mechanisms were exactly studied to choose the adhesive with the minimum debonding between layers. The results are presented, discussed and commented upon.
