Bacillus Anthrax as a Destructive Biological Agent

Rare biological weapons have been used for centuries. Bioterrorism is one of the most serious dangers in the 21st century. The activity of progressive countries on Bacillus anthrax bacterium indicates the importance of it in making biological weapons. Analysis method- In this study, keywords (Bacterial warfare, Bacillus Anthrax, Biological weapon) were searched through authentic academic and biotech sites by using web search engines such as (PubMed, Google, NCBL). Findings- Bacillus anthracis is a gram-positive bacterium which is able to produce a variety of anthrax disease in the areas of skin, inhale and digestive. Bacillus is aerobic and can remain in the environment for many years due to the formation of spores. Anthrax is a prominent disease in history, that remains as an important disease in animals and humans, and it is a main bacterium in biological warfare and bioterrorism as well. Upon being suspected to anthrax, gram staining, pathogenic agent, and specialized tests such as PCR are prescribed. Discussion and conclusion- The production of a good vaccine is one of the requirements for the prevention and treatment of this complex bacterium. The United States, England, Russia, and China are the only producers of anthrax vaccine, so actions must be taken to be safe against biological attacks.
