Abstract:
This study focusses on the public bus energy demand using real cycles and comparing it with standard driving cycle WLTP and comparison of total energy consumption in different engines including IC, fuel cell and electric engine. For this purpose, the acquisition process took place in 4 different routes and in all week, days including vast hours (8 AM to 4 PM). The DATA acquisition method concluded to capturing different traffic conditions, the data collected by use of cell phone GPS apps and overall more than 80 real driving cycles were obtained afterward the vehicle longitudinal formulas were used to model it in Simulink. Generally speaking, the results showed that the real average energy demand of public bus is less in comparison to WLTP cycle and it is due to the lower speed of vehicle in real cycle
