Abstract:

Introduction: Deep vein thrombosis in susceptible women can influence the results of chemotherapy in women with breast cancer; therefore, interventions during chemotherapy may reduce the incidence of chemotherapy. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of lower limb massage with almond oil during chemotherapy in women with breast cancer. Methods: A total of 70 DVT-susceptible patients based on caprenic criteria were included in this clinical trial study by convenience sampling and randomly divided into two groups. The lower extremity of the patients in the intervention group during the chemotherapy was continuously massageed by a physiotherapist with almond oil. Caprini scores were measured before and after intervention and compared with ANOVA test. Results: The mean score before intervention was not statistically different between the two groups (P = 0.11). After the intervention, the two groups did not differ in their ability to diagnose DVT (P = 0.087), and the intervention did not succeed Has a positive effect on DVT susceptible women. Conclusion: Preventive measures in women with DVT that undergo chemotherapy may have a positive effect; massage with almond oil during chemotherapy could not have positive effects in the present study.
