Abstract:

Introduction & Aim: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide. It is the 5th leading cause of cancer death in Iranian women. Several studies suggest that women who consume tobacco or who were exposed to passive smoking may have an increased risk of breast cancer. Methods: The study enrolled 21 women with incident invasive breast cancer diagnosed from age 30 to 60 years. All women completed a telephone interview, including a questionnaire to assess pre diagnosis exposures and health histories. The interview collected information on demographics, reproductive history and exposure of smoking. All data analyses with SPSS version19. Results: Among 21 women with breast cancer in 2018, with an average of 46 years. Breast cancer risk was statistically associated with passive smoking (p=0.001).Conclusion: Among females, there was significant association between passive smoking and this risk of breast cancer. These results imply that passive smoking is ssociated with an increased risk of breast cancer, and the risk seems to increase as the level of passive exposure to smoke increases Women with passive exposure to their husband s smoking have a higher risk of breast cancer than those have active smoking .
