Production Protease by Enterobacter sp. during In Vitro Antagonism with Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Melonis Production Protease by Enterobacter sp.

In our previous research, Enterobacter sp. indicated an antagonistic activity against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis in the dual culture assay. In order to identify protease producing Enterobacter sp. isolates used from the skim milk agar medium and creating a clear halo around the colony of Enterobacter sp. at the plate surface indicates protease activity. Most isolates of Enterobacter sp. showed protease activity. Therefore, the protease activity inhibited mycelial growth of the pathogen and it is one of the antagonistic mechanisms of Enterobacter sp. against F. o. f.sp. melonis.
