Abstract:
Nowadays usage of natural products has been gained a lot attention as an alternative strategy in the medication of infections. Garlic (Allium sativum L.) is one of the twenty most important vegetables in the world and it has been used as a food and medicinal from ancient times. The specialty aroma and flavor of crushed fresh garlic arise from a numerous sulfuriccompounds like allicin which is the most important combination of them. There is a lot of evidence about therapeutic effect of this compounds. This paper reviewed some evidence of the antibacterial and antifungal activity, anticancer properties and cardiovascular protective effects.
