Greater Tehran is currently one of the most populated great cities in the world with 8 million population at night and 12 million at day time and with an estimated population around 14 million inhabitants. 12 million motorized trips are daily recorded in Tehran municipality improving the public transportation conditions has become crucial in Tehran when the increasing road congestion jeopardizes economic efficiency of the city as well as air quality
